When Phra Ram is informed of Hanuman's exploit and sees the head of the demon, he has high praise for the Son of the Wind. Prakontan, however, whose injudicious choice would have placed the whole army in the gravest danger, is ignominiously dismissed.
On the advice of the wise Pipcck, a camp is established in the Marakot Hills. At a council of war held there when the army has settled in, it is decided that Ongkot, the son of Palee and Nang Monto, shall be sent as envoy to Totsagan.
